Ike Davis’ last 59 at bats have been incredible. It’s the Ike Davis that we all expected. He is hitting the ball hard to all outfield gaps, and is also getting pop over the fences. He is whiffing at terrible pitches in the dirt anymore, nor is he giving up during at bats. His confidence is back.
I am going to be completely honest with you guys, I started having thoughts that Ike Davis was just a one season wonder, especially after breaking his ankle. However, he has passed the test. He has overcome a tough injury in the MLB and has show that he still belongs here.
Gotta tip your hat to Terry Collins, and the whole team for believing in him, and not giving up. It would have been easy to send him to triple-A, but instead of destroying his confidence, Terry Collins let him stay on the big league club. A great move by the manager. Ike, keep raking in the hits!
