Even though it has been a very rough last week, the Mets are still in it. They are only 3.5 games behind a playoff spot, and arguably just went through the roughest week the team has gone through all season long. This team has amazed us all season, and I hope that they don’t stop amazing us. The real reason why not making it interesting in september would be heartbreaking for me, is because this team really has something special going. And I don’t want it to stop.
The Mets will have a chance this weekend to hop into third place in the wild card race. They are 1.5 games behind the Dodgers for the third slot, and start a three game series against them tonight. The Mets will have Johan Santana (6-6, 3.59 ERA) taking on Aaron Harang (6-5, 3.53 ERA). First pitch will be at 7:10 PM EDT.
