Reaction: Mets got Swept by the Astros

If you didn’t see, the New York Mets got swept by the Astros this week in Houston. It was a three game series, which was three games too long. The Mets made guys like Bud Norris, Jed Lowrie, and Chris Johnson look like flat out all-stars. Even Brett Myers came in and made the Mets look silly.

Also, I never want to see Chris Schwinden on SNY ever again. He is just god awful. Nothing about his pitches are good, nor does he ever get any success while throwing them. Chris Johnson homered twice off Schwinden and later added two more hits to drive in a career-high six runs and lead the Astros to an 8-1 lead.

Schwinden, after the game stated: “I made a couple of bad pitches, and they got hammered,” Schwinden said. “I thought today was going to be a little different, but I left a couple of balls up in the zone, and it changed the whole day.”

You are terrible Schwinden. You didn’t make a couple of “bad pitches” you are just a bad pitcher. Enough said. Schwinden get off of my team!

The Mets are now 5-7 on the road, and 2.5 games out of first place.

Now, the Mets will fly back to New York and play the defending NL West champs, the Arizona Diamondbacks. However, the Mets seem to have the pitching advantage this weekend over the D-backs. Here are the pitching match ups this weekend:

Miley (3-0)
Gee (2-2)
Corbin (1-0)
Santana (0-2)
Cahill (2-2)
Dickey (3-1)

I would say the Mets have the pitching advantages on Saturday and Sunday, but Gee always seems to keep them in the game. Santana and Dickey always give great efforts. So if the bats can come alive this weekend, the Mets will have a real chance to take at least two games in Queens. Let’s Go Mets!
