The New York Mets (42-36) pounded Aaron Harang and the L.A. Dodgers (43-35) tonight by a score of 9-0. The New York Mets moved up into 2nd place in the NL East with their win tonight and the braves loss verse the Nats.

Winning Pitcher: R.A. Dickey (12-1, 2.15) was tonights winning pitcher the Mets.
Losing Pitcher: Aaron Harang (5-5, 3.97) was tonights losing pitcher for the Dodgers.
The Mets are back in business! After tonights 9-0 win, the Mets are in 2nd place in the NL East just 3.5 games behind the Nationals. The Mets share the 2nd wild card spot, and are just playing good baseball once again. I said it yesterday, when the Mets lose a few in a row, they bounce back every time with a nice winning streak. Thats whats kept us a float this season.
R.A. Dickey (THE BEST PITCHER IN THE GAME RIGHT NOW) pitched eight shut out innings, only allowing three hits with one walk and 10 strikeouts. Dickey recorded his 12th win of the season tonight. People were worried after that Yankees game a blew up in, but guess what… HE’S FINE!
Ruben Tejada and Daniel Murphy were huge once again tonight. Tejada went 4-5 tonight with an RBI, and Daniel Murphy went 2-5 with one homerun and 5 RBI’s. Daniel Murphy is just incredible when he is swinging the bat well. He waited on an off speed pitch in the 7th, which turned into a three-run home run to give the Mets a 9-0 lead.
Lucas Duda recored his 43rd RBI of the season tonight with a nice RBI single. Duda snapped an 0-15 slump with his RBI single.
Also, Jeremy Hefner has been pitching a lot better lately. In his last 3 and 1/3 innings Hefner hasn’t allowed a run, and has 2 strikeouts. The Mets need as much help from their bullpen as possible so this is a good sign.
Check out Dickey’s Dominant Night:
Tomorrow: The Mets will continue their four-game series with the Dodgers at 7:15 PM tonight. Johan Santana (5-4, 3.00 ERA) will go up against Nathan Eovaldi (0-4, 4.04 ERA).
