Starting Pitchers:
RHP R.A. Dickey (5-1, 3.75 ERA) will take the hill for the Mets.
RHP James McDonald (3-2, 2.68 ERA) will take the hill for the Pirates.
Game Notes:
- The Mets’ series against the Pirates should be a series they should win. Santana, Dickey, and Niese are the best pitchers on the team, and they’re pitching against the Pirates. The Mets need to beat the Pirates tonight.
- Mike Baxter is leading off? Kirk hasn’t been playing very well recently, but Baxter is not a leadoff hitter. I’d bat Kirk first and Baxter second. Terry obviously knows way more about baseball than me, so maybe Baxter is the right guy to leadoff. He’s definitely a better option in the leadoff spot than Cedeño.
- MIKE NICKEAS NEEDS TO GET A HIT OR TWO!
- Ike Davis… Homerun? Maybe?
- Let’s Go Mets!
