Blocking Out Mainstream: The season’s not over

There’s nothing that bothers me more than when my Mets fan friend writes on my Facebook wall in the middle of a tough Mets losing streak that the Mets suck or that the season is over. We’re fans. We’re not objective…at all. I don’t write this blog to provide the supposed objectivity of the mainstream media.

Instead, I write it to voice my opinions about a lot of things: reselling the No-Han tickets, cool orange and blue apparel out there, bad moves, good moves, trades, etc… I don’t have locker room access. I’m just a kid voicing his opinion, which people often agree and disagree with.

So what I don’t understand is why everyone in the media now says the Mets season is over. Even the “experts” can’t predict some of the crazy things that have gone down in September and October over the years.

Anyway, it’s true that the Mets have had a tough stretch recently. But, they have a real opportunity coming up and a lot to prove. Unfortunately, the Mets don’t have a stud prospect named Matt Harvey joining them soon, but maybe not rushing him was the best move. I don’t know. No one really knows. I wanted to see him in the majors on Saturday, but who am I to decide if he’s ready.

Like always, I’ve just gone on a random and unplanned rant.

I meant to say to not listen to mainstream media personnel telling you when the season is over. Remember, every time the Mets are in a valley, they go back up to a peak. Rinse, wash, and repeat guys…

It’s not over. There’s a lot of baseball left this season.
