I was just on the phone with MetsOnline.com’s Anthony Koka, and during our phone call he pointed out how back in 2009, Sports Illustrated predicted that the Mets would win the World Series. However, in this year’s season preview, Sports Illustrated predicts the Mets to finish in last place in the NL East with a record of 75-82.
So, if you are the superstitious/fate-believing type, it would make sense if the Mets won the World Series this season. When the magazine predicted that the Mets would be the best, they were the worst. Now that they are predicting the Mets to be the worst, maybe they will be the best?
